To enhance students' understanding of Hong Kong's history and development, as well as its heritage preservation and revitalization efforts, the Citizenship and Social Development and History Departments organized a visit to the Heritage of Mei Ho House museum on 2 July 2026. Twenty-one students from Form 2 to Form 4 participated in this activity, which was divided into two sessions.
In the first session, students explored the museum to learn about the development of resettlement estates following the Shek Kip Mei Fire in 1953. Additionally, the exhibition provided students with a comprehensive look into the daily lives of past resettlement estate residents.
In the second session, students watched several videos illustrating the historical difficulties faced by these residents. They were then encouraged to express their opinions through voting, role-playing, and group discussions. Beyond deepening their understanding of Hong Kong's history and heritage revitalization, the visit successfully cultivated various core values in the students, particularly perseverance, respect for others, integrity, law-abidingness, empathy, and diligence.
