The last English Speaking Day held by English Award Scheme (EAS) on 13 May was truly engaging as students explored a meaningful theme — public rude behaviours. Instead of focusing only on positive habits, students openly discussed indecent and disrespectful behaviour in public places — especially on public transport. They shared real-life examples, how actions such as watching reels on phones loudly, jumping the queue and speaking foul language affect others, and why respectful communication matters.
By discussing these examples, students clearly expressed that public spaces are shared by everyone. Respectful behaviour, polite speech, and self-control are essential for building a safe and comfortable community. Students chatted with our teachers and student ambassadors actively, and they could redeem sweet packs at the end of the event. EAS will continue to organise many more English activities in the next academic year.
