Historical and heritage tour in Central
2025-03-10

To deepen students' understanding of Hong Kong's history and culture, History Club organized a heritage tour in Central on 10 March 2025. Guided by student docents, participants started at Joint Publishing Hong Kong to spark their interest in reading and discover literary treasures. They then began to explore the city's history in-depth by visiting Tai Kwun, a heritage and arts center comprising three declared monuments— the former Central Police Station, Central Magistracy, and Victoria Prison. Students learnt to appreciate the architectural features and gained insights into Hong Kong law and order's role in shaping Hong Kong's identity. The tour concluded at Pottinger Street, an iconic stone-paved lane which represents Old Town Central. This tour not only encouraged positive values but also reinforced students' learning in history.
