The 51st Speech Day of SKH Lam Woo Memorial Secondary School was held on 2nd December, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony commenced with the National Flag raising ceremony.

Dr. Alice Yuk, BBS, JP, the school supervisor, in her opening speech, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to parents and teachers for their support and care to help students grow and succeed, under the guidance of God. She reminded the graduates to never cease to learn and serve with ardour and compassion. The Guest of Honour, Prof. Chan Ka Leung, Francis, SBS, JP, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, thereupon addressed the congregation. He congratulated the great success of the graduates. Being a great educator, doctor and researcher, he acknowledged that life was not always plain sailing, yet, he encouraged the graduates not to be hindered by the stumbling blocks on their way but to be motivated to strive for excellence. He hoped that they could preserve and remain steadfast in pursuit of their dreams.

Following the presentation of certificates to the graduates by Prof. Chan, our Principal, Mr. Cheng Hong Yung, highlighted what the school achieved in the academic year 2022 – 2023 in his report. He was grateful for everyone's hard work, teamwork and tenacity as we embrace normality in the post-pandemic era. He then announced the pleasing HKDSE results, with 98% of students getting JUPAS offers. He reminded the graduates to consistently demonstrate their commitment to serve as they embark on a new journey in life.

Next came the presentation of scholarships, officiated by members of the School Management Committee and guests. As Dr Yuk presented the souvenirs of Long Service, the recipients received rapturous applause for their diligence and dedication. Two graduate representatives then presented the Vote of Thanks, expressing their gratitude to their teachers and parents for their unfailing love and guidance throughout these years.

To bring the grand ceremony to a close, the school's Orchestra performed "the third movement of Suite No. 1 in E-flat major" by Gustav Holst and the Mixed Voice Choir sang a song, "When the Stars Wish upon You" by Ernest Hui.
